Castle Morpeth Borough Council's "Summer Days" activities and events programme is now drawing to a close, marking a very successful outcome for the council's new event booking website, developed by Wansford Digital, which was built specifically to reduce the strain on council staff in taking bookings and provide a more pleasant experience to local residents. In previous years users wishing to enlist themselves or their children on one of the summer activities had to place bookings either by post or telephone. The launch of the website has enabled the council to take micropayments for the bookings, which in turn enabled it to invest this back into 27 additional activities. The number of people who booked on activity sessions was more than double the figure in 2007. The council also received some very positive feedback from attendees:
